After a big breakfast prepared by Ginger Wentrcek and Patsy Supak, Tommy, Patsy, Ben and Nancy set out on today’s tour. (Ernie and Ginger went antiquing in their modern car.) It was supposed to be a short trip but we got a late start (big breakfast, changing a tire that was getting a little bald, etc). The tour took us through some lovely farm country and, even though we had some rain, it wasn’t too long before the sun came out.

Getting to Anchorage

Our first stop was to see the car collection belonging to Dave Cooley, one of the co-chairs of this tour. Dave doesn’t collect just Model T’s but has several early Cadillacs that are spectactular. However, most of the time we were there, Ben was trying to discover the source of some threatening rattles that had him concerned about the engine. Fortunately, he and Tommy Supak found three unrelated sources for the noises and, with help from Dave Cooley and his well-equiped shop, they were able to repair or adjust them all and get us back on the road running smoothly.

With the banquet planned for tonight and packing to do, we cut the tour short and headed back to Whitefish. The final banquet was held in town with buses to carry us up and down the mountain so the guys were able to put their cars on the trailers for their departure tomorrow. We, of course, will be driving our T out of here in the morning, on our way to Yellowstone. We loved spending the week with our good friends from home; it went by way too fast.
