Day 3 - June 8 - On Friday, June 8, the Hardemans and Ross finally left Temple and drove 322 miles to Post, Texas. The motels in Post are pretty grim, not exactly recommended by AAA, but we were all too tired to care. There were a number of little problems - requiring brief stops and not extensive repairs. We stopped in Snyder to replace the ignition coil in Jennifer and Ginger’s pickup truck (but, fortunately, did not buy gas!). David, Bill and Sue caught up with Ken and Joyce and, together, drove the rest of the way to Albuquerque for the third night.

608a - Ross's speedometer drive gear became unattached from his front wheel. Not having any bailing wire at the moment, he was forced to use nylon tie wraps.
